Tutorial 3 • SystemC: An introduction to Modeling Systems
Mike Baird - Willamette HDL, Inc.
Wednesday February 28 • 8:30am - 12:00 Noon
SystemC is an open community C++ modeling platform put forth by the Open SystemC Initiative. It consists of C++ class libraries, plus a lightweight kernel for system-level simulation and hardware-software co-design. It supports hardware modeling concepts to enable modeling at the system, behavioral and register transfer levels. The tutorial will introduce the capabilities of SystemC for describing systems at architectural (system), behavioral and RTL levels and demonstrate examples of modeling at all levels. The target audience of the tutorial includes system and hardware designers with knowledge of Verilog or VHDL and/or the C/C++ programming language.
