| The Program Committee noted an increase in the quality of submissions for the conference this year. We have again achieved a nice balance between design and verification papers and panels. One hot topic, as evidenced by two sessions in the program, is Assertion-Based Verification. We also have our first session dedicated to the use of SystemVerilog as well as papers covering advances in other standards activities.
We are also pleased that the success of last year's experiment with sponsored tutorials has resulted in the selection of 4 sponsored tutorials for this year's conference covering Assertion-Based Verification, SystemVerilog for Verification, and SystemC and Transaction-level Modeling. Sponsored tutorials provide additional value to conference registrants while allowing organizations the opportunity to be associated with new developments in the industry in an educational environment.
