Today's SoC designs require increasing amounts of simulation cycles, driving the need for more compute resources. An increasing number of users are seeking solutions that take advantage of the elastic hardware scalability offered in the cloud to address peak/burst simulation capacity requirements, enabling a higher quality verification on a predictable schedule. Moving verification workloads to the cloud, however, brings a unique set of challenges, such as hardware instance selection, file system configuration, and job orchestration.
Moving simulations to the cloud brings about a unique set of challenges. This hands-on tutorial explores the considerations for moving simulations to the cloud. Various issues in compile, debug and run are explored along with tool flows taking into account the elastic nature of the cloud to seamlessly run your simulations, thereby achieving shorter regression times on an on-demand infrastructure at lower costs. Attendees will be guided through the setup of a CloudFormation template via AWS, detailing all of the important requirements to deploy a cloud-based solution in their real environment and will be able to launch simulation jobs at scale within their environment.
Pre-requisite: Laptop required to participate in this hands-on lab. Laptops will not be provided.
