1068: Are My Fault Campaigns Providing Accurate Results for ISO 26262 Certification?

Running an efficient fault campaign with accurate results can be a difficult task especially on large complex designs, but there are optimizations and techniques to address this. A common difficulty when running fault campaigns is providing stimulus behavior where a campaign run on RTL matches the results of the final gate level netlist fault campaign needed for certification. In the paper ‘Complex Safety Mechanisms Require Interoperability and Automation for Validation and Metric Closure’ presented at DVCon US 2023 we covered the fundamental methodology to overcome typical fault campaign challenges for SOC’s with complex safety mechanisms. The previous paper described a general methodology and flow for fault campaigns, but it did not go into the details of how to plan and verify fault campaign activity.
